Question

I was asked to make a one thousand dollar donation to a political candidate, (a friend of the owner of the company I work for). I said no. Things started to go bad.

I am a sub-contractor for this company. I receive payment for mentoring sales and managing accounts. I am still owed for three months of payments from 2013. When asked for that payment, I am now facing cancellation of my contract (termination) and current earnings.

I wish I were joking. I am not.

What are my options for restitution and mandated payments for on-going contracts that I have rightfully earner and entitled to? This is in the California bay area.

Answer

If they do not pay you, you will probably need to hire an attorney and sue them. It does not seem likely that you will be working for this company again.

Answer

As a contractor, you can sue under your contract for any payments owed.
