Question

Hello there. I wanted to ask if any new law has been passed in the state of Texas for a spouse to be held responsible in any legal way "Criminally or Family Law" for allegedly committing adultery as well as possibly becoming pregnant by another man while legally married in the state of Texas. Thank you for your time.

Answer

Don't think so.

Adultery is a ground for divorce. Since Texas is a "no fault" state the only effect that adultery has on a divorce is that you can seek a disproportionate division of marital property in the event of divorce. Also if there is a child that is the result of the adultery, you will not have to pay child support on a child that is not yours.
