Question

Why are lawyers allowed to charge you for a divorce decree that they and the courts know are virtually a worthless unenforceable pieces of paper. Property settlements/orders to pay are not recognized by the mortgage companies or banks yet litigants are lead to believe that the matter is taken care of through the decree. If the orders to pay are meaningless and the court knows this, then why is this not an act of fraud? If the decree is not followed one must pay more money to have a motion filed to enforce it.

Thousands of people are having their credit destroyed by former spouses and it is all with the backing of the court system. If the former spouse is ordered to pay and does not pay the bank issues a foreclosure order on both parties.

Even though the court has turned the property over to one of the two parties, both are obligated to pay in the eyes of the bank. If the court and legal system is basically selling these useless decree orders than I think someone should raise the issue of fraud!

Answer

I disagree that divorce decrees are useless pieces of papaer. They are enforceable documents.
