What themes were a major focus of Renaissance art?
While religious and philosophical characters and icons were often the subject matter, Renaissance art strove to explore and conquer technical aspects of composition using foreshortening, perspective, and the golden mean. The accurate observation and rendering of the human figure was a focus as well.
