Question

I have been given a total of $15,000 from my father over 2 years to help support my children and I. Now, for Child Support reasons, my ex husbands lawyer is demanding I turn into the court these records of receipt from my father. What would be the best option for me to explain this money, gift or loan?

Answer

The fact that your father helped support your children or provided them gifts is not going to obviate your ex husband's duty to pay child support.

Answer

You need to just tell the truth. If he gave you money and did not expect to be paid back tell them that. Just explain what the situation is.
