I live in an illegal apartment (multifamily home) and the landlord is trying to evict me. Can i fight it?

Living in an area that is not set up to be an apartment does not give you a right to stay there indefinitely. Your written agreement controls. Take your written lease to an attorney and get advice on what your rights are before the battle begins.
