How can you improve products used by the ancient people?
First you find out what these inventions were. Second you need to decide if these products are useful in the contemporary world. For example it is doubtful items that were supposedly used by alchemists would be marketable today. Particularly the one's purportedly useful to turn base metals into gold.
On the other hand the inventor Hero invented many inventions centuries ahead of his time. Such as a seeing eye door, a steamboat and many more. He lived in Ancient Rome. It depends on what the invention is and if it needs to improved.
