Question

I gave my car's title to my husband's cousin so he can sell my car to someone as I was moving out of country. I was in living in California and cousin is from Arizona. He took my car and from past year he is making excuses that he is going to next week or next month but he hasnot. Can I sue him over this issue or what else can i do to get my money or car back??

Answer

Technically when you signed over the tittle you gave him the vehicle. You may have an enforceable verbal contract. Yes you can sue to recover the costs of the car as it is probably a small claims amount. The difficulty for you is that unless thus cousin has the minimum contacts you need to exert California jurisdiction, you probably will end up in then Arizona courts system
