Question

When my mom pasted away last year my grandmother got custody of me but as I live with her she becomes unstable and a little unreasonable. My mom's closest friend said she will take custody of me but doesn't quiet know if she can. Is there a way for her to get legal custody of me?

Answer

It depends. The Court is bound to do what is in the best interest of the child (you). This is not a question that can be answered with a simple response. I would recommend you have the friend contact an attorney to get help and advice.

I would be happy to follow up with you. Please email me directly or call my office if you would like to schedule an appointment either in person or by telephone. My contact information is listed in the links below.
