I am from Michigan and it states that you can only have one felony set aside. Well I had a felony that was deferred and I completed all requirements and it was dropped but I had another felony that was not but I am being told that it doesnt matter that I had the first one deferred. I have just completed my bachelor degree and getting ready to start Grad school for psychology but I now find out that I cant expunge the record. Do you have any advice?
Thanks
Answer
If the first one was deferred, it's not a conviction. The second one may be set aside, assuming it fits the statute and you have no other misdemeanors as well. Visit kliszlaw.com to discuss. Tim Klisz

You may be able to set aside your felony conviction in Michigan. First, you ought to consult with a good and experienced criminal defense attorney in Michigan to see if you qualify under the present law.
