Question

my daughter lives in Tucson, AZ. She has a 17 month old son. She is not married. Her and her boyfriend who is the father of her son lived together but have now split up and moved out separately. She has her son. She wants to move to colorado springs, co and come live with me. Can she legally move her son to colorado?

Answer

Yes, she can, so long as NO COURT ORDERS have yet been entered. BUT, how she goes about doing so can be strategically important, and she should discuss such with an attorney. There can be repercussions if she moves without notice to the father.

We can certainly help her consider and then pursue her options.

One of our attorneys can explain the issues and procedures better in person. As you can imagine, there is too much to cover via email. We offer free 1/2 hour consultations, in which we can discuss her matter in detail.

Please have her call us directly to discuss the specifics of her matter, or contact my assistant Gina or my paralegal Jennifer to schedule a free 1/2 hour consultation.
