NO. IC's are not employees, nor do they have any employee rights, only what is specified in their IC contract.
An employee did something illegal on company time, was caught and company paid all fines,over $4000.00. Employee had to go to court at which time the Judge said he should have some responsibility in what he did and fined him $900.00 which includes court costs. Employee says employer should pay not him. Is employer responsible for these charges?
