Question

Hi, I asked for my psychotherapy sessions to be recorded, and my psychotherapist said no. I live in California - do I have any legal right to have my psychotherapy sessions recorded if I wish?

Answer

No. There is no right to record any conversation in California without all participant's consent, or a court order or warrant. In fact to do so without consent is a crime.
