How is it possible to stop a heavy vehicle by means of a single foot force?
Hydrolics, they take the pressure and multiply it by pressing on a smaller area, most also have electric pumps as well.
Think of it like a high heeled shoe, which would you rather a 17 stone rugby player trod on your foot with, flat soled shoes or very pointy high heeled boots.
