Brake lights stay on 2002 x-type could this be a relay issue?

Brake lights stay on 2002 x-type could this be a relay issue?
I believe this is most likely a faulty or stuck brake light switch. The lights are actuated when depressing the brake pedal thus closing the circuit in the switch usually attached to the upper end of the pedal near the hinge.

I discovered that it was my big foot that knocked a little plunger unit by the brake pedal which dislodged the above, as a previous contact said it takes 10 seconds to clip it back on the bracket!! Saved an expensive trip to the garage, THANK YOU!
