What affects the efficiency of the combustion chamber?

What affects the efficiency of the combustion chamber?
This sounds like a homework question and I don't know what your teacher wants. But here goes.Material piston and head are made of. Aluminum absorbs more heat than cast iron, steel pistons on a heavy diesel absorb less heat than an Aluminum PistonShape, the way the flame front moves inside the combustion chamberCompression ratioTurbulence induced in the intake charge by the combustion chamber.
And a bunch more that I have forgotten.
