How do you get sign to Bad Boy's records?

How do you get sign to Bad Boy's records?
Setting aside, who you knew, You would need to create a huge local buzz for your group. You must also gain a tremendous amount of press at least in your local area. Pretty much at this point, if you don't have at least on completed project, and a great following, you have no chance. Start with that. If your music is hot, these type of labels will find YOU. Don't thing that execs are not in the crowd watching. If you get this far, then you will probably come to know someone who knows Bad Boy and you will certainly know the location of the company (which is pretty well known info). Setting that aside, you have to understand that even if your group is HOT, and what they are looking for you still might not be signed, because they don't want to mess with anything at the current time.
One possbile shortcut to Bad Boy is to hire their Ex Producers or book their studios at a high rate so they know WHO you are..
On my last trip to bad boy, i was told about a southern group who had all of the above and video tapes of a 5,000 person crowd all sigining along to their music. Bad Boy took a pass.
so basically, trump that... and then call them
The other way is to win Making the Band or Diddy' s Star Maker, but that's obvious.

If you want to go on the 'my music is HOT' argument, (and i do not know where you are musically), you would be more apt to be signed to a Desert Storm or a Ruff Ryders. They would be more likely to look at the music itself. Not that they are 'second rate', but their focus on background is just a little different. Both are amazing. Ruff even advertises its studio services on its web site. So an 'in' might be easier.
If you don't know where to start, find the best producer you can, and work with them, if your hot, they will eventaully introduce you to people if you keep asking and if they don't, then start working with others... To find the ones that you want, read the credits section on the CDs that you like, and contact them...

Good Luck.
